September 16, 2005

Wilson County...Excel Aquatics has close to 400 swimmers registered USA swimmers this Fall between their Williamson County and Sumner County training sites.  This does not include Masters swimmers, this does not include only those who will swim High School, this does not include those who will only swim in a developmental league.  It is USA Swimmers registered swimmers only, the total is not inflated to impress.  Why swim for Excel in Gallatin?  Excel/Sumner County is a small team atmosphere in terms of training numbers, that capitalizes on the resources available to a large team.  Our Success Stands Above All Others.

September 15, 2005

Wilson County...Wilson County resident, and Excel Aquatics Assistant Coach, John Barnes reports that three of his swimmers who are in 12th Grade this year at various High Schools are in discussions with quite a few Division I schools.  Excel Aquatics has produced more scholarship swimmers from Wilson County and Sumner County than the other team that trains in either county, the most notable Excel alumni is Olympic Trials qualifier and former Mount Juliet resident Andrew Davidson.  With Coach Barnes' three seniors in discussion with Division I schools, it looks like Excel's tradition of excellence will continue.  Real Team, Real Results.

Wilson County....This evening marked the return of the original Xtreme Dryland Training for Wilson County swimmers.  Excel Aquatics Ass't Coach and Wilson County resident John Barnes, resurrected his highly successful and fun Dryland Program (with a few new twists) with the Middle School age swimmers being trained by Excel Aquatics in Gallatin, just a few miles north of the county border.  "The goal of this new and improved XDT program is not only to develop core body strength, but to also develop reaction times in the swimmers."  Coach Barnes noted.  "We are always one step ahead in our positive approach to coaching our swimmers.  In the near future we will be offering the latest in technology in evaluating and developing our swimmers.  We accept our responsibility to our parents and swimmers as their coaches, and will continue to be proactive rather than reactive as others are."  No empty promises.

September 2, 2005

Wilson County....The Excel Aquatics Placement Trials successfully concluded tonight.  Regular Fall Practice schedule starts Tuesday September 6th, the day after Labor Day.  Coach Barnes noted "Other Clubs have scheduled practices on Labor Day, however we want our swimmers to spend their Holidays with their families and friends, one day does not make or break the season."  Priorities.

June 10, 2005

May 8, 2005

Somewhere in Wilson County....Congrats to Bradley Gillilan of Excel Aquatics for Personal Best Times at the Pilot Meet in 8 of 9 Events.  Bradley easily obtained a SES LC 13&14 Cut in the 400 Meter Free with a time of 4:50.37, and is only 5.28 seconds away from a 15-16 Cut, even though he is just 12 years old.  This is the fastest recorded 400 Meter Free time among any Wilson County resident over the past 4 Long Course Seasons!  This would also convert to a 5:20.86 in the 500 Free which would give him the 500 Free record at any High School in Wilson County!

Congrats to 11 year old Austin Barnes of Excel Aquatics for Personal Best Times in all 6 of his events.

Both boys are coached by Coach Andreea, the new Gold Standard in Youth Coaching for Wilson and Sumner County residents.  Of Andreea's 5 Swimmers attending the PACK Meet, there was a 97.4% rate of Personal Best Times!  Coach Barnes' swimmers by comparison only had a 75.0% rate of PBT's, with one swimmer obtaining a new Senior Summer Sectionals "Meters" cut time.  Compare.

*The Entry Times for the Pilot Meet were computer conversion times and were not indicative of last summer's LC actual PBT's.
